OFFSITE DATA BACKUP -
Backup Instructions for Microsoft Money.
Backing up your Microsoft
Money installation
This general Money backup procedure applies to Microsoft
Money 99 and later. Other versions may vary. If this backup
procedure does not match your version of Money, please
call Patty Cray at Multi-Link-303.831.1977
for assistance.
Money 99 and later provide new strategies for backing up
your valuable Money data files. With Money, the default
backup scheme is to back up to your hard disk each time
you quit the program, and then to back up to an additional
location (like Multi-Link offsite date backup) every 14
days.
1. To configure your backup options, click
Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Backup tab.
2. Check "Automatically back up file to hard disk on
exit" box, then select a place on your hard drive where
you want this backup to be saved to. This
is the folder you will want to tell Multi-Link online backup
to be sure to backup.
3. (Optional) Select 'Prompt me before backing up each time'
(we suggest leaving this unchecked).
4. (Optional) Select 'Make my file small...' (we suggest
checking this box).
5. (Optional) 'Automatically back up to floppy every XX
days' (this is up to you if you want a floppy backup. By
doing steps 1-4, you will have a backup on your hard drive
and a backup with Multi-Link offsite backup already.
6. Be sure that your Multi-Link offsite backup has the file
or folder/directory selected for backup.
